Stock up on bottled water and canned goods, because the zombie apocalypse is coming and it's coming fast. World War Z premiered last night, with star and producer Brad Pitt in attendance alongwith his partner, Angelina Jolie, director Marc Forster and much of the principal cast. Not present, happily: hordes of sprinting undead.
The film - which Pitt, in a display of crowd-pleasing charm, pronounced "World War Zed" - sees UN Investigator Gerry Lane attempt to come up with a way to stem or stop the zombie apocalypse that has swept the world. Mireille Enos plays his wife; newcomer Daniella Kertesz plays an Israeli soldier who helps him, and Peter Capaldi was on hand as a World Health Organisation doctor. They all smiled the smiles of people relieved to be unveiling a film that has turned out well after endless rumours of production trials and tribulations.
The premiere was followed up by a concert in Horse Guard's Parade by Muse (or as they put it last night, Muze), who contributed a song to the film and put on a big-enough laser show to scare even the most ravenous zombie.
