Crime thriller Man On A Ledge has a new international poster for your perusal. We're not gonna lie, it does exactly what you'd expect from a film with the words 'man' and 'ledge' in the title but handily it adds a whole mess of police choppers, SWAT teams and throngs of stickybeaking bystanders to crank up the jeopardy levels to 'nerve-jangling'.
Giving the term 'high concept' a new spin, Man On A Ledge sends Sam Worthington to teeter on the edge of a New York tower block - an impulse anyone who's seen Clash Of The Titans lately could no doubt relate to. Worthington plays an ex-New York cop who's been stitched up like a kipper for a crime he didn't commit. Given time out of prison to attend his dad's funeral, he goes on the lam and heads to the ledge.
Unlike Lethal Weapon's depressed yuppie, though, he's not really there to throw himself off, or even entertain the world with his Buster Keaton routine. Nope, as the trailer shows, his brother (Jamie Bell) is busy pulling off a heist across the road, using the ledge act as a distraction.
Alongside Worthington and Bell are Ed Harris as the bad guy, Anthony Mackie and Elizabeth Banks who plays the NYPD psychologist charged with coaxing down the 'jumper'.
Will she manage to persuade him to rethink his plans or will the crew pull of the tower heist? Find out when Man On A Ledge is re;eased in UK cinemas on January 25, 2012.
