The World's End Trailer Blasts Online

We’ve been patient, waiting through the first poster, the pics of the main cast in action (well, arm-action in the pub) and a week’s worth of Twitter teasing (thanks) from crafty scoundrels Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and Nick Frost. Now the moment of truth is upon us with the arrival of the first trailer for** The World’s End**, AKA the final bite of the unofficially-titled Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy.

Pegg is Gary King, who decides to reunite a group of old mates and finally finish the pub crawl they first embarked upon 20 long years ago in their home town of Newton Haven. They’re all in different places in their lives now, but the bond remains - or so he hopes.

Trouble is, rather than simply being a night out on the lash, the group discover that they may be the only chance of saving the world (or at least the town) from a body snatcher-style apocalypse. Which is a slightly worse fate than learning the local boozer is out of Hog Lumps.

This augurs well as a victory lap for the lads, featuring the comedy style we’ve come to love and even a great fence gag (because what would a Cornetto pic be without a fence gag{ =nofollow}?)

With Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, Rosamund Pike, David Bradley and more in the cast (expect a batch of cameos from other former Cornetto faces), The World’s End is set to arrive on July 19 in the UK. American types will have to wait until 23 August.
