Not content with simply being part of the cast for Arrested Development or voicing the title character in the streaming service’s oddball Hollywood ‘toon BoJack Horseman, Will Arnett is next set to co-create and star in a show for Netflix. He’s one of the people behind the new comedy Flaked.
The sitcom, which he’s working on with The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret’s Mark Chappell, will find Arnett playing a role that seems well suited to his usual blowhard style. Flaked follows a self-appointed guru in Venice, California named Chip who has built a web of half-truths and full lies around his adopted personality. But when he falls for the object of his best friend’s fascination, the shell of nonsense he’s so carefully constructed starts to fall apart, bringing down his image and any claim to sobriety with it.
Arnett has roped in Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz as an executive producer and plans to get to work on the series this year ready for it to hit screens in 2016.
