Running around Los Angeles in a filthy yellow dress? Effie Trinket would be scandalised. Still, that’s the situation Elizabeth Banks finds herself in after a drunken one-night stand in Walk Of Shame. The first trailer for the comedy is now online via Yahoo.

Banks plays Meghan Miles, an aspiring LA TV news anchor, who loses the audition for her dream job. Crushed, she agrees to go out with her friends for an uncharacteristic night of partying. After an unsatisfying time at a club, she meets and goes home with a stranger (James Marsden) and awakens the next morning in his bed to a phone message from her agent telling her the job is hers, if she can make it across town by 5 pm.

Stranded in an unknown area with no money, no working phone, and no car, she embarks on a series of misadventures as she races to the most important job interview of her life. Cue run-ins with cops, thugs, hookers and one breast-obsessed kid…

Banks can handle this sort of zany comedy fairly effortlessly; the real challenge will be seeing whether the film can become something more than just a series of Hangover-style misadventures. With Gillian Jacobs, Sarah Wright and Kevin Nealon among the cast, Walk Of Shame is out in the US on April 25, but doesn’t appear to have a UK date set yet.
