Following Vin Diesel’s one-man Facebook PR campaign and the first teaser trailer, here comes the full promo for Riddick.
Based on all the evidence so far, this appears to be Diesel and writer/director David Twohy getting back into the Pitch Black aesthetic. Given how wonky things got when they tried for OTT space opera with The Chronicles Of Riddick that seems like the smartest move.
Our favourite gravel-voiced antihero is left for dead on a planet with unique properties and no small number of dangerous predatory beasts. As if that weren't enough, he also has to face a small swarm of bounty hunters looking to cash in by taking him down dead or alive.
With a storm on the horizon and more trouble for everyone involved, it’ll be another fight to the death for Riddick – and anyone left standing…
There’s the vague whiff of a lowered budget here, but the trailer promises lots of creature action plus tough merc posturing from the likes of Katee Sackhoff (in full-on Starbuck mode), Dave Bautista, Jordi Mollà, Matt Nable, Bokeem Woodbine, Raoul Trujillo, and Nolan Gerard Funk. Riddick will punch our screens on September 6.
