Good news arrived yesterday for Veronica Mars fans in the UK and Ireland hoping to see the crowd sourced film version of the detective’s further adventures: Mars boss Rob Thomas emailed Kickstarter backers to announce that the movie will hit select cinemas in Blighty.
Thomas, who created the show and has co-written and directed the movie, didn’t specify the exact release date, but we figure it’ll either be on the same day as the US – March 14 (mark your calendars) – or shortly thereafter.
In the film, Veronica (Kristen Bell) has put her hometown of Neptune and her amateur sleuthing days behind her on the eve of graduating law school. While interviewing at high-end legal firms, she gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan (Jason Dohring) who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right in how his case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind…
So if you were excited about the idea of the film – or perhaps more importantly, had contributed money to its very creation – and were worried you might not get to see it, you may be resting a little easier now. Here’s the list…
