With the release date now just over a month away, the drip feed of Man Of Steel advertising is turning into more of a gusher, even if Warners and Team Superman are resisting the urge to release too many clips to avoid spoiling everything. Still, the TV spots are becoming more frequent and the poster schedule is turning into a flood with two more below.
Man Of Steel, as you’ll no doubt know, finds writer/producers Christopher Nolan and David S Goyer working with director Zack Snyder to cook up a new, re-interpretation of Superman’s (Henry Cavill) origin. The usual story of the Kryptonian orphan who displays super powers thanks his alien origin is present and correct, but filtered through more self-discovery and wrangling with his place in our society.
And even as he’s discovered by humanity at large, there is fresh danger from General Zod (Michael “I WILL FIND HIM!!!” Shannon), who arrives on Earth and decides that Kal-El should really be more loyal to him than to this planet of weaklings. Cue conflict!
We’ve had several posters and banners already, and a snippet of Hans Zimmer’s haunting, powerful theme is below for your listening pleasure.
The movie, which also features Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Antje Traue, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne, lands in UK cinemas on June 14.
