The True Grit** trailer was cool, the first True Grit poster was cool - and sure enough, the new True Grit international poster is also gosh-darn cool. With Jeff Bridges transforming himself into the living embodiment of the word "grizzled", Matt Damon looking like he wants to hurt us* and Josh Brolin about 10 seconds from pulling the trigger of that shotgun, it's a moody effort that has our excitement levels at near breaking point.
The storyline, for those of you who aren't up on your John Wayne originals, sees a tough old US marshal (Bridges) help a young woman (newcomer Hailee Steinfeld) to track down her father's murderer. They're helped by a Texas ranger (Damon) and on the trail of bad 'un Tom Chaney (Brolin).
True Grit comes out in the UK on January 14, which is - by our count - not a mite too soon.
