Will the new Johnny Utah at any time say, “I am an F! B! I! Agent!” Will Gary Busey show up for a surprise cameo? Will Danny Butterman approve? None of these questions are answered in the first trailer for the new Point Break, but go ahead and watch it anyway.

This new version of the extreme sports criminals action-thriller finds Luke Bracey taking over the Johnny Utah role once occupied by Keanu Reeves, while Edgar Ramirez slips on the wetsuit as Bodhi, formerly played by Patrick Swayze. Once more, Utah is an FBI agent in way over his head, working undercover with a group of thrill-seekers who also like to pull off staggering crimes.

Director Ericson Core’s take on the story ups the stakes even higher, with the criminals not limiting themselves to basic bank robberies, but trying truly audacious heists that involve all sorts of different sports to carry them out. And because The Fast And The Furious essentially channeled Kathryn Bigelow's original and has since exploded into a massive, extreme stunt-laden franchise, the new Bodhi and co. naturally have to amp things up.

Will they succeed? Can they turn the tide of those who see no need for a **Point Break **remake, or who would have preferred a sequel catching up with Johnny Utah given Keanu Reeves’ action return with John Wick? We’ll find out when the movie arrives on Christmas Day in the States and in the UK on January 8 next year.
