The first trailer for spy drama The Tourist, starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, has arrived online.
Giving off a vibe similar to Knight & Day (experienced spy picks up hapless American citizen and takes them on a dangerous journey), the movie is actually based on French thriller Anthony Zimmer and was crafted by The Lives of Others director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, who really should be renting his name out to Bond villains.
Jolie is Elise, a beautiful international espionage expert who just happens to cross paths with heartbroken, out-of-his-depth US tourist Frank Taylor. Of course, it’s not quite that simple: Elise has targeted Frank exactly because he looks like a notorious criminal.
Ang can do this stuff in her sleep, but the trailer shows what looks like a fun mix of romp and real stakes, with Depp channelling a touch of his kooky vibe for Frank as he tries to deal with the situation he’s thrust into.
With a cast that also includes Paul Bettany, Rufus Sewell, Timothy Dalton and Steven Berkoff, **The Tourist **features the scripting talents of Julian Fellows, Chrostopher McQuarrie and Jeffrey Nachmanoff.

The movie will hit US cinemas on December 10, but doesn’t yet have a confirmed UK release date.
