Topher Grace is clearly a man in a hurry… a hurry, that is, to capitalise on the buzz that’s sure to surround him when Spider-Man 3, featuring his turn as arch-nemesis Eddie Brock/Venom, is released in May.
For right now, the likeable and talented young actor (who, with apologies to Kurtwood Smith and that redhead actress that Empire always fancied a little, even if her voice was deeper than Barry White’s, was the best thing about nutty sitcom That ‘70s Show), is lining up projects like a student lines up shots during Freshers’ Week.
To a slate that already includes **Cockblockers **(or Coxblocker, depending on which source you trust), a comedy with Seann William Scott, and Kids In America, Grace has added sci-fi thriller, Source Code.
Not much is known about the plot, but it involves time travel, and we’re quite intrigued, frankly, to see if Grace, a fine comedic actor, can stretch to leading man in a thriller. Ben Ripley will write, Mark Gordon will produce, Universal will distribute. And they all lived happily ever after…
