Hot on the heels of yesterday's announcement that Patrick Stewart has decided to be a part of Kevin Munroe's CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, four more actors were today revealed as having signed up for vocal duties - but none of them as the actual Turtles. Apparently they are to be voiced by newcomers, or at least not name actors.
Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar has agreed to lend her chords to the role of April, the human girl who's been a long time friend of the Turtles while acting as their IT and tech support officer. And something of a mum.
Another girl, the lovely Zhang Ziyi, has lined up against them (well wouldn't you want to be on Patrick Stewart's side in a battle?), playing Karai, according to a second article on the subject from Comingsoon.
Chris Evans (No, Not That One) is up for voicing Casey Jones, the Turtles' ice hockey mad friend, and the best news of all is that Kevin Smith is set to play the (presumably pizza) chef of the heroes' local greasy spoon.
Well, as the old song goes, what a difference a day made. Taking certain members of the Empire office (who were, in their defence, perhaps a little old for this craze even first time around) from apathy to "quite interested, I must say," this is great news for the film. With any luck, they'll have given Smith re-write approval, then it'll really be cooking.
