Though not a very well-known title in Marvel's back catalogue, Disney Animations's latest,** Big Hero 6**, is indeed a property of that comics giant. That might explain the superheroishness the the whole conceit: 13-year-old robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada joins forces with a rag-tag group of crime fighters to stop a criminal gang threatening his home city, San Fransokyo. In the three following stills, you'll meet his greatest invention in the form of his best friend, father figure, bodyguard and robot, Baymax.
This is a film that features a character called Fredzilla, a man able to turn himself into a Godzilla-style lizard, as well as someone called Go Go Tomago, a young woman named Leiko Tanaka who uses a power suit to battle enemies. Needless to say, we're very excited, and the trailer that's set to land this Thursday, May 22, can't come soon ehough.
Don Hall (Winnie The Pooh) and Chris Williams (Bolt) are sharing directorial duties for this one, with Hall and co-writer Jordan Roberts adapting Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle’s comic. Some early footage from the movie is the only real glimpse we’ve gotten so far, but it certainly looks gorgeous from that snippet.
