Thornton And Basinger Become Informers

Kim Basinger and Billy Bob Thornton have become the latest people to join The Informers, an ensemble drama based on a series of short stories by Bret Easton Ellis, who also wrote the script with Nicholas Jarecki.

The drama takes place over the course of a week in 1983 in Los Angeles. This being Easton Ellis we're not talking cheery, sunny, bouncily plastic LA, so much as nihilistic, vacuous, drug-numbed LA. The lives of seven characters intersect across this week, including movie execs, rock stars and, notably, a vampire.

The cast already includes Lou Pucci, Austin Nichols, Jon Foster and Ashley Olsen (we'd put money on her as the vampire). But the cast member it warms our heart to see is Brandon Routh. The poor kid's been cast aside by Hollywood like a ruptured implant since doing a terrific job in Superman Returns. Someone give the guy some more work and don't leave him hanging around hoping that Super sequel goes into production one day ever. Boy got talent.
