Texas Killing Fields Trailer Arrives

Can Sam Worthington pull off a convincing Texan drawl while hunting a murderer? That’s just one of the big questions posed by the new trailer for Texas Killing Fields, which has arrived online. Take a look below and decide for yourself.

Fields finds Worthington as Texas ‘tec Jake Souder, who works in an area of the state famous (or perhaps that should be infamous) for a string of unsolved disappearances and murders during the last 30 years or so. He teams up with a New York plod (Watchmen's Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to investigate further, but the case turns deadlier and more personal when the apparent killer starts to target those close to the cops.

Given that the director, Ami Canaan Mann, is the daughter of Heat/Public Enemies legend Michael, we have to admit we were hoping for something that looked less like your average crime thriller. But there’s a solid cast supporting Worthington and Morgan, including Let Me In's Chloe Moretz and Tree of Life’s Jessica Chastain.

The film has scored a slot at this year’s Venice Film Festival and will be out in the US on October 7. There’s no sign of a UK date yet.
