Terrence Malick's new film **To The Wonder **asks Ben Affleck to chose between a Bond girl and The Time Traveler's Wife. It's a tough pick by any standards. Luckily, he's got Javier Bardem to help him with the kind of gravelly-toned advice and spiritual nuggets that illuminate this new trailer for the movie.

Affleck plays Neil, a midwesterner whose love for a beautiful French woman named Marina (Olga Kurylenko) is initially as pure and blissful as the Oklahoma landscape it plays out against. Then that loves fades, Marina's personal circumstances take a turn for the worse and Rachel McAdams' Jane turns up with simpler pleasures (hey, it's tough to compete with bison watching) and aliens turn up and vaporise everyone man's inner nature is exposed.

Bardem's Father Quintana, a man plagued with doubts of his own, is on hand to offer spiritual guidance. The film polarised festivalgoers in Venice, but we're as excited as always with a Malick release. Expect more wonderment as well as striking images of Mont St. Michel and lush bucolia to rival Days Of Heave****n. It's out on February 22.
