As you’ll likely be aware by now, director Andrew Stanton’s sci-fi epic John Carter finally hits our cinemas on Friday. You can head here to see what we thought of it, but if the trailers and clips so far have left you in two minds about whether you might enjoy the movie, Disney has placed ten minutes of footage online for you to sample. Check it out below.
Don’t go expecting any big Mars (sorry, 'Barsoom') -set battles here: this is from the opening of the film where we meet Carter’s nephew, one Edgar Rice Burroughs (Daryl Sabara), who has been summoned by the executor of our hero’s will to read his journal. We’re then introduced to the Civil War veteran as he gets into – and almost as quickly out of – trouble in a dusty Western town. Oh, and then he has some problems with the natives before something catches everyone’s attention. Just what is it? Aha! That you’ll have to head to the cinema to find out. He’s a crafty one, that Stanton.
With Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Willem Dafoe, Samantha Morton, Thomas Haden Church, Dominic West and Mark Strong among the cast, John Carter lands, as mentioned, on March 9.
