OK, so you've seen Watchmen - but you still don't have the full story. Tales of the Black Freighter, the comic-within-a-comic for Alan Moore's graphic novel, has also been film-ised for DVD release - and we have an exclusive clip from its 'making of' - with footage from the film itself as well.
The story of the Black Freighter follows a marooned mariner (voiced by Gerard Butler) whose crew was brutally slaughtered by the denizens of the titular dark-coloured ship*. Morbidly convinced that the Black Freighter is headed to pillage his home town, the mariner (unnamed in the book and film; although onscreen he's a ship's captain) sets off to attempt to warn his people. Be warned: things get kinda gory.
Tales of the Black Freighter is out on DVD on April 6, and includes fake-doc Under the Hood (based on the fictitious autobiography of a Watchmen supporting character: this thing is layered).
*Ships like this have denizens rather than crewmembers.
