Blimey. Now we know why Team Taken – please don’t make us keep calling it Tak3n – were keeping quiet about the plot for the third outing of The Bryan Mills’ Special Skills ‘N’ Kills Jamboree – they’re going dark. Check out what we mean in the first trailer for the film, and beware first-act spoilers.
In this one, Bryan (Liam Neeson) starts happy, in a good place with daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) and closer than ever to reconciling with ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen). But then something terrible happens: Lenore is taken away for good and Bryan is the prime suspect in her murder.
Pursued by the CIA, the FBI and the police (seems like a lot of manpower to us, but then, this is Mills), across Los Angeles, he goes on the run to track down the real killers and introduce them to his particular brand of vengeful, rage-driven justice. At the same time, he also has to protect Kim from the same psychos. Olivier Megaton had already told Empire that this was like The Fugitive, and this trailer certainly promises that, down to a shot of a watery tunnel and everything. Fingers crossed that the guy at the heart of the conspiracy has a fake arm!
With Forest Whitaker, Jon Gries, Leland Order, Sam Spruell, Dougray Scott and Andrew Howard all aboard, the sequel will land in the UK on January 8.
