If Dorothy Gale or the gang from Twister thought that they had trouble with tornadoes, their encounters were but a mild whistle of wind compared to the freakish weather hitting a small American town in the new trailer for Into The Storm.

Set on the day that a local high school graduates, the movie finds the Oklahoma town of Silverton ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of the spinny disasters. The entire population is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come.

Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. In the middle of it all, school vice-principal Gary Morris (Richard Armitage) must look for his missing son and protect others as the weather's fury lays waste around him.

But to find those he loves, Gary will need to ally himself with the storm chasers led by Matt Walsh’s Pete and their meteorological associate, Allison Stone (Sarah Wayne Callies), who is studying the phenomenon. With director Steven Quale orchestrating the windy wraiths, Into The Storm will hit UK cinemas on August 22.
