Planes, trains and automobiles: none of them are safe according to the teaser trailer for tornado thriller** Into The Storm**. If you thought Bill Paxton or Dorothy Gale had it bad, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Eschewing the characters for this first look, the teaser loads up on CG tornado chaos, featuring all manner of people, vehicles and buildings being torn apart by the howling fury of Mother Nature’s most powerful gusts. It’s clear that director Steven Quale intends to ramp this one up from slightly dangerous tornadoes to full-on power funnels capable of tossing planes around with abandon.
As for the story, it finds the small Oklahoma town of Silverton ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of the spinny disasters. The entire population is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. In the middle of it all, school vice-principal Gary Morris (Richard Armitage) must look for his missing son and protect others as the weather's fury lays waste around him.
With Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sumpter, Matt Walsh, Nathan Kress, Kyle Davis and Arlen Escarpeta also in the cast, Into The Storm will be upon us on August 22.
