Steve Carell is keeping himself busy with the news that he's signed up to star in Dumped, a new comedy at Warner Bros. Although who could dump such a loveable face as that?

The film's plot, however, depends on just such a premise: Carell plays a man "searching for new meaning" in his life after his wife abruptly files for divorce. It's based on the book by Andrew Gottlieb, with Victor Levin adapting it for the screen.

Carell's also set to produce the film, which is part of his Carousel productions deal with Warners - under which he's also set up Hi-T, where he plays a man whose need for testosterone injections causes extreme mood swings, and also a US Civil War / time-travel story co-written by and set to star Carell's The Office co-star Ed Helms. Carell is also starring in Date Night with US election winner Tina Fey, and in a **Get Smart **sequel that's in the works.
