While we’re aware that this isn’t strictly movie news, such was the overwhelmingly positive reception for Movie-Con’s world exclusive first play of LucasArts’ upcoming game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, that we simply have to let you know about a playable demo which will soon be available to download.

Coming on August 21, on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will be able to give the hotly-anticpated game a whirl for themselves. The demo gives players a taste of one of the early levels in the game in which you get the chance to whoop all kinds of ass in a TIE Fighter Construction Facility.

Intended as an entirely new chapter in the long-running saga, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” and promises all manner of cool action and lush-looking graphics.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be available to buy in the UK from September 19.
