Simon Baker, who's so hot right now thanks to his leading role in TV's The Mentalist (tee hee), has signed up to join Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me, along with Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba.
Baker will play a county attorney on the trail of a killer. Catch is that small-town sheriff Casey Affleck is in fact less the boring small-town cop he appears and more the ruthless sociopathic killer. Hudson plays his schoolteacher girlfriend and Alba a prostitute.
Robert Weinbach and John Curran wrote the script, based on Jim Thompson's classic noir novel of the same name, which starts shooting this week in New Mexico and Oklahoma (both doubling for West Texas). With a cast like this, colour us interested.
