What would you do if you awoke amongst a group of horribly mutilated corpses in an open grave? We mean, besides the obvious gibbering in pure terror. If you’re Sharlto Copley’s character in the horror thriller Open Grave, you also try to figure out just what is happening.
Copley plays John, who wakes up in the wilderness in a pit full of dead bodies. He’s rescued by a group of strangers from a nearby house, all of whom claim, like him, to have lost their memories. As they try to investigate what happened, all manner of horrible things start to happen, and the eye of suspicion falls on each one in turn. Who can they trust? What should they do? And will any of them survive?
Featuring Thomas Kretschmann, Joseph Morgan, Erin Richard, Josie Ho and Max Wrottesley, Open Grave is from director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego and writing duo Eddie and Chris Borey. US audiences will be able to catch it on VOD outlets from Christmas Eve (ooh, seasonal!) and in cinemas from January 3. There’s no sign of a UK release just yet.
