Second Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Flies In

Now that was worth the wait. Following on from the first teaser that debuted back in November, the second teasing look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrived during the Star Wars Celebration event. If you were disappointed by the lack of original trilogy characters last time… Well… Take a look.

Narrated this time out by Mark Hamill's Luke, who references the Force, especially in terms of it running through his father, his sister, himself and… some unseen child… the second promo is crammed full of things sure to get the blood pumping and the heart beating.

Such as? Try more Millennium Falcon fly-bys, shots of Star Destroyers (including one that made a crash landing bad enough to make Harrison Ford tut in disgust), shadowy looks at Luke and Leia and that closing shot of Han and Chewie, with Solo announcing that they’re “home”. Can’t think what he’s referring to!

And so much more. Daisy Ridley’s scavenger Rey, who lives on a desert planet called Jakku (not Tatooine), and John Boyega’s Finn running from an explosion with rolling droid BB-8 in hot pursuit, Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron whooping as he guides his X-Wing over water, Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren using his force powers, lots of Stormtroopers, a TIE fighter taking out what looks like the inside of an Imperial hanger, an intriguing new stormtrooper in different armour… The list goes on.

With J.J. Abrams co-writing and directing, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out on December 18.
