Adam Sandler is like that strange cowboy in Mulholland Drive. If you do the right thing, you'll see him twice this year and twice next year. If you're bad, you'll see him twice in 2007, once in 2008, and at least once in 2009. What we're trying to tell you is that he's signed on to an elaborate new comedy called Bedtime Stories for Disney.
Sandler will be playing a real estate developer with a very fertile imagination who finds the beddie-bo-bo tales he tells his niece and nephew every night are beginning to come true. It's being directed by Adam Shankman, who's currently busy on Hairspray, and given that this is a Mouse House production, we have a sneaking suspicion that it could involve all manner of CGI-live action crossover, which means that its opening weekend might be a long way off.
The versatile star has been consistently busy recently, working in both comedy and drama. He'll be taking a serious turn from next week when he stars in Reign Over Me, while the Biel-icious comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry is within trailer distance, and he'll be playing for laughs again – we expect in early 2008 – in Don't Mess With The Zohan as a Mossad agent who fakes his death and gets a cover life as a hairdresser.
