Rock Of Ages Premieres In London

Time to dig out your leather chaps and ask your barber for a mullet, because Rock Of Ages is almost upon us, after premiering in London last night. The cast and crew were in attendance, and star Tom Cruise performed his usual trick of signing autographs until long after a normal person's arms would have fallen off from sheer exhaustion. Hmm, guess he is tough enough to play Jack Reacher after all.

Cruise plays Stacee Jaxx in the film, the dissolute star of rock supergroup Arsenal. Also in attendance were Russell Brand, who plays nightclub staffer Lonny; Malin Akerman, who's Rolling Stone reporter Constance Sack; Mary J Blige, who plays stripclub owner Justice; Paul Giamatti, who's weasley agent Paul Gill, and finally Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta, who play smalltown girl and city boy Sherrie and Drew (respectively). Director Adam Shankman (Hairspray) also turned out for the evening, so the only stars missing were Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Bryan Cranston.

The premiere was as demented and fun an affair as you'd expect if you've seen the stage play on which the film is based. White Snake's Bernie Marsden tore it up as Cruise signed away, and Shankman introduced each member of the cast onstage by asking what they liked best about working with, er, Adam Shankman.

Rock Of Ages is out on Friday June 15. Rawk on till then!
