Hey, guess what, the '80s are back. Or, more specifically, 1987, as Wall Street, the movie that most defined and somehow glorified the gimme decade, despite the fact that it was actually damning it, is getting a sequel.
The movie's original producer Edward Pressman and writer Stephen Schiff have been hired to work on a continuation of the story of Gordon Gekko (originally played by Michael Douglas and hopefully played by him again). Oliver Stone has declined involvement.
The follow-up, titled Money Never Sleeps (what the hell does that mean?), catches up with Gekko as he leaves jail. Where now for the uber-yuppy? Will he be able to work mobile phones now that they're not longer the size of small garden sheds? Can he single-handedly bring about the return of the contrast collar? Only time will tell, readers. Only time will tell.
