It's not movie news, but it's got us interested: a remade version of alien invasion (or is it? etc.) series V is hitting TV screens later this year, and a lengthy trailer has gone up online for your delectation{
As with the original series, this show sees an alien civilisation arrive on Earth and extend the hand of friendship to us human types: the aliens look like us, have advanced technology and seem like all-round decent human beings. Or are they?! The world's populace is divided between near-worship and paranoid mistrust, allowing the Visitors (hence V) to establish themselves in the cracks.
The ABC show has certainly assembled a promising sci-fi cast, partly by raiding the Whedonverse for actors (never a bad plan), with Serenity's Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk lined up to appear - Baccarin in the key role of Anna, the apparent leader of the alien Visitors. And it appears, from the tone of this trailer, that they're shooting for a Battlestar Galactica sort of vibe. Let's hope they hit the mark.
