A sextet of actors have jumped aboard Rob Reiner's Flipped, the adaptation of Wendelin Van Draanen's novel of the same name. Aidan Quinn, Rebecca de Mornay, John Mahoney, Anthony Edwards, Penelope Ann Miller and Kevin Weisman are all lined up for the film - and given that the actual focus of the book is on two teenagers who have yet to be cast, things are shaping up rather well.

The story focuses on a boy and girl neighbour, Bryce and Juli. At the beginning of the story, when they are 7, he finds her annoying but she loves him; as time goes on and they reach the age of 13, she decides he's cowardly but he finds her attractive after all: can they even meet in the middle?

Quinn and Miller will play Juli's parents, with Edwards and De Mornay as Bryce's parents. Mahoney is set to play Bryce's grandfather and Weisman (from Alias) will take the role of Juli's mentally challenged uncle.

The film's due to start shooting later this month in Michigan. Reiner wrote the script with Andy Scheinman (North) after Nora and Delia Ephron took a crack at the book in 2006.
