Having the creator of the original film aboard as a producer is not always a solid gold guarantee of quality, but it certainly gives you cause for feeling more hopeful. Such is the case for Luis Prieto’s remake of Nicolas Winding Refn’s sizzling Danish debut thriller Pusher, and now the trailer for the new film is online. Take a look below.
Refn has helped shepherd this version of** Pusher**, which has been uprooted from Copenhagen to London, with Richard Coyle taking on the role of harried drug slinger Frank. The story remains fairly identical to the original – Frank thinks he’s found the score of a lifetime, but is suddenly forced to ditch his haul when the police show up. Trouble is, that leaves him open to the not-so-tender mercies of crime boss (Zlatko Buric, who played the same part in Refn’s trilogy).
The film also features Bronson Webb, Paul Kaye and Agyness Deyn and will hit our screens in May. And if you’re in the mood for more, go take a look at the poster we premiered earlier this month.
