Prepare To Meet Enormous

Mad Max meets **Godzilla **might have been the pitch for Enormous, the latest offering from online content-pumpers Machinima. The poster, which we can reveal below, gives a pretty clear hint at the intentions of the short film, which stars Ceren Lee as a woman who works for the UN trying to find missing children and save them from... well, big scary, scaly things.

With Tim Daniel and artist Mehdi Cheggour's comic as source material, director BenDavid Grabinski co-wrote the script with Troll Hunter's André Øvredal, whose presence might be a clue to the tone of the post-apocalyptic monster mayhem, which aims to retain a sense of humour.

Machinima, recently boosted by a cash-injection from Warner Bros., are looking to make more web content with a cinematic edge. What we've seen of **Enormous **certainly suggests surprising scale for what producer Adrian Askarieh thinks will be the start of a series. "We wanted to push the cinematic possibilities of the online medium," says Askarieh, who is currently also in production on Hitman reboot Agent 47 and developing video game adaptation Deus Ex.

"Essentially an entire generation has been growing up watching movies on their tablets and/or smart phones. There is no reason for conceding to any medium's preconceptions when you embark to tell a good story. You can't let yourself creatively say: 'Oh yeah, I'm making a web series'. You are making content that can be seen by hundreds of millions of people at the click of a few buttons. Make the best and most interesting content you can. The rest will figure itself out."

You can see if they've figured it out on March 20. The trailer is below.
