Despite recent rumours from a doomsayer tabloid rag, the three leads in the Harry Potter movies have signed on dotted lines to stay a part of the franchise to the end. Which is nice. Personally we think it would have been cooler if they all cut their thumbs and spat in their hands and shook on it, but hey – at least we get to see our favourite teen spell-casters see things through.

They signed contracts yesterday that would mean them being a big part of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. It’s only to be assumed at this stage that all of the supporting cast will also be returned as and when required.

According to Variety, David Heyman will continue producing the franchise for Warner Brothers (which is not to suggest that this was ever in doubt), and will be joined on the final two films by David Barron.

2007 is a big year for Harry, with both The Order Of The Phoenix hitting the big screen and The Deathly Hallows landing on bookshelves in July. Franchisae, mintus, cashio!
