It's not every day you get to celebrate five Oscar nominations and your movie's premiere on the same day. This is officially a blue riband for a filmmaker scenario and Quentin Tarantino did everything short of riding through Leicester Square firing pistols in the air to celebrate Django Unchained**'s official UK bow.
Of its nominations, QT's Southern picked up a Best Film and Best Screenplay Oscar nod, as well as a Best Supporting Actor shout for Christoph Waltz. The pair shared the red carpet and will share a second night at the Academy Awards, after Inglourious Basterds' stellar 2010, next month.
Hopefully it will be more than slightly warmer at the Kodak Theater - not that the chill was putting the mockers on Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and, erm, Ron Howard's partying. The director / writer / actor / producer / cunning-premiere-ligger was taking time out from polishing off **Rush **to attend.
