On Monday, we had the first look at new pictures of those pesky **Penguins Of Madagascar (not their official full title, just the name of the film). To follow that up, feed your eyes and ears with the initial trailer for the animated adventure, which feels like a teaser but features plenty of the waddling wonders doing what they do best – causing chaos.
In this spin-off from DreamWorks Animation’s **Madagascar **franchise, Skipper (Tom McGrath), Kowalski (Chris Miller), Rico (John DiMaggio) and Private (Christopher Knights) join forces with a super-secret animal organization called North Wind to fight a many-tentacled menace named Dave, an octopus who has made it his mission to kill off all the penguins. He is voiced by John Malkovich, because who else do you hire to tackle a multi-limbed sea creature? North Wind's leader, meanwhile, is a wolf known only as Classified, and is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch. Ken Jeong, Annet Mahendru, and Peter Stormare join him as the other voices behind North Wind.
We’ll no doubt discover more about the plot in future trailers, but then the story was never the main selling point of the Penguins; it’s their unorthodox antics, which here include a dangerous way to leave a plane, a creative solution to hitting the ground and Skipper proving expositional spiel is best enjoyed with cheesy snacks. The Penguins Of Madagasca****r lands in the UK on December 5.
