23 years on from the end of Army Of Darkness (or one of its endings at least) Bruce Campbell's Ash is still fighting Deadites, although he now seems to work at ValueStop rather than S-Mart. We've had trailers, posters and Comic-Con panels{ =nofollow}, and now here's a behind-the-scenes clip from the new TV series Ash Vs. Evil Dead. For a glimpse of some gory boomstick action and Campbell in a corset, take a sneaky look, like a witch peering up through a cellar door.

"He's selfish, lazy, but he's really good at fighting Deadites," says producer Rob Tapert of Ash, who we then see flinging an axe in slow-motion.

"The idiots are back in town," grins Campbell. "Ash has always kept the chainsaw - and the shotgun and the book - but it's been rusting on a shelf somewhere so he has to reactivate it..."

Evil Dead mindermast Sam Raimi has, as you'd hope, been overseeing this latest iteration of his signature franchise. He also directed the pilot episode, with subsequent chapters picked up by Michael Hurst and Rick Jacobson (both veterans of Hercules, Xena and Spartacus).

"Ash Vs. Evil Dead is a jolly splatter-fest," says co-star Lucy Lawless. You can get your Halloween yucks when it premieres on October 31.
