Well, that didn’t take very long. After the eruption of buzz over the weekend over the "leaked"/camera-captured Red Band trailer (which has now been yanked from the 'net) for David Fincher’s take on Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the official “green band” version – i.e. the one minus the nipples and blood – has arrived online and can be viewed below.

brightcove.createExperiences();Thankfully, what really gave the promo its impact is still intact here. Powered by a storming cover of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song by Karen O, it’s a dazzling mix of dark scenes and tough moments. And that tagline: “The feel-bad movie of Christmas?” A cherry on the disturbing cake. Plus now, it's not in overly dark, shaky-cam style...

Instead of directly remaking the Niels Arden Oplev version, Fincher and screenwriter Steven Zaillian have opted to go back to Larsson’s book and craft their own version, albeit with similar results.

But this teaser definitely has us primed to see the movie. Take a look and let us know what you think.

With the likes of Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer and Joely Richardson in the cast, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will leave its mark on these shores on December 26.
