Featuring at least two examples of the old maxim about cool guys not looking as they walk away from explosions, the teaser trailer for The November Man has arrived online via Fandango.

This opens with Pierce Bronson channelling Bond to lecture CIA newbie Luke Bracey on his philosophy of bullets and how they will make you cease to exist. It’s all part of his training program, since he’s supposed to turn the young whippersnapper into a tough operative like himself and warn him that there’s no room for love in their world.

From the looks of the rest of the trailer, however, Brosnan’s Peter Deveraux doesn’t quite practice what he preaches, and soon things are going very wrong for him when those he loves come under fire and he’s pitted against Bracey’s David Mason, who is putting what he learned to good use against his old mentor. It’s all part of a deadly game that involves high-level CIA bods and the Russian president-elect, one we predict will not end with people enjoying a nice glass of bubbly and a shiny trophy.

Roger Donaldson is behind the camera for this one, marshalling a cast that also includes Olga Kurylenko, Eliza Taylor, Will Patton and Bill Smitrovich. The November Man hits the US on August 27, but doesn’t appear to have a UK date set just yet.
