After extending his range with heist caper 4.3.2.1, actor/director/writer/producer/tea-maker Noel Clarke is considering science-fiction next.** Reign Of Death** is a sci-fi noir short film starring Clarke and written and directed by Matthew Savage. It's stunningly shot and well worth watching and now the pair are looking to turn it into a full-length film.*

“The feature takes place within the same universe as the short, but it’s darker and more sinister in tone,” says Savage. “It follows an investigative storyline, with Noel’s gumshoe character taking the lead. The short was an experiment in creating a visually interesting environment within which to tell our story.”

Savage, who has previously created concept art for The Dark Knight and **Kick-Ass, **met his star when they were both working on Doctor Who.

“I optioned Reign Of Death a long time ago, for my company, with a view to getting a feature done,” says Clarke, who notes that the short has been compared favourably with net sensations The Raven and Panic Attack{ =nofollow}, “Not because of the story, but because the effects can be done on a budget, and done well.”

**Empire **has read the script – which combines crunching action with diamond-sharp wit – and we wait with interest to see which studio has the stones to deliver what Clarke bills as “**Se7en **meets Blade Runner”. Now, please.
