Marcus Nispel, director of Pathfinder and Friday the 13th, is in talks to join The Last Voyage of Demeter*, a Dracula-related story set aboard the boat that the Count takes to England in Bram Stoker's novel.

As you may remember from the novel and/or the movies, Dracula travels from Transylvania to Whitby aboard the Demeter, a ship that experiences an apparent plague during the journey, the crew dying off one by one. The ship finally crashes on the rocks at Whitby, the dead captain lashed to the wheel. This film will tell the story of that ship's nightmare voyage through the Captain's log - although it's a little hard to imagine how they're going to find a big finish for the story when Dracula carries on for a hundred more pages.

Bragi Schut Jr wrote the script, which was previously set to be directed by Robert Schwentke (Flightplan). Production is due to get underway later this year.
