The teaser hit the web back in August, but now the full trailer for Underworld: Awakening has arrived online and can be watched below.
This time, the story rockets forward to 12 years after the events of Underworld: Evolution, and finds Selene (Kate Beckinsale, back in the vinyl catsuit) finally escaping from coma-ridden captivity to discover that the world she knew has changed forever.
Humanity, you see, has finally cottoned on to the idea that vampires and Lycans exist. Instead of taking one side and wiping out the other, we’ve somewhat logically decided that both are a terrible threat that must be dealt with. Naturally, that means a big ol’ battle between the three races, with Selene and Eve, (India Eisley) the hybrid daughter she’s only just met, caught in the middle.
Plus there’s also a rather nasty Lycan beastie running around, one who is considerably bigger than his cousins…
With Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein on directing chores and the likes of Charles Dance, Michael Ealy, Scott Speedman and Stephen Rea also in the cast, Underworld: Awakening will be out on January 20.
