Despite a recent release date shift, we’re still going to get George Clooney’s latest, World War II drama The Monuments Men early next year. To keep that in our minds, Fox has released a new poster, in regular one-sheet style or quad fashion if that is your preference.
The Monuments Men finds Clooney and producing / writing partner Grant Heslov adapting Robert Edsel’s book for a fact-based tale of a highly unusual US army platoon. No ordinary troops, these were museum directors, art historians and curators who were recruited to retrieve artwork stolen by the Nazis and ensure that landmarks, buildings and other features of note aren’t destroyed by either the enemy or allied forces.
As the poster serves to remind us, Clooney has recruited a sterling squad of old friends, regular collaborators and even some new faces to play the team, with Matt Damon, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin, Hugh Bonneville and Bob Balaban among them.
We’ve got high hopes for this one, and The Monuments Men will be out in the UK on February 21.
