It would appear that DreamWorks Animation has a plan to release one trailer a month for Mr. Peabody & Sherman. So thank goodness the film arrives in just a few weeks or we’d be saturated. Check out the latest offering from the company.

All of the promos, including this new one, have had a very familiar feel. We’re introduced to legendary genius hound Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell), told how special he is and that his biggest challenge is raising adopted son Sherman (Max Charles). Then we're rocketed off through time when Sherman takes Mr. Peabody’s WABAC time machine off on a joy ride to bond with Penny (Ariel Winter).

The rest is a collection of new and old Bill & Ted-style gags as the machine causes chaos and rips a hole in the space-time continuum so that the cartoon duo must fix all manner of timey-wimey trouble. Cue cameos for the likes of King Tut (“His name rhymes with butt!”), Leonardo da Vinci and the Greek warriors who have their Trojan Horse plan upstaged by our hero.

There’s a good voice cast here, with the likes of Stephen Colbert, Stanley Tucci, Dennis Haysbert, Leslie Mann, Lake Bell, Patrick Warburton and Stephen Toblowsky all lending their tonsil talents. But it remains to be seen whether Mr. Peabody can hit the nuanced comedic and emotional heights of, say, How To Train Your Dragon especially when there’s a new Dragon film hovering in the wings awaiting release this year. Mr. Peabody & Sherman, meanwhile, arrives On February 7.
