If the mad zombie Nazi antics of 2009’s Dead Snow weren’t enough to slake your thirst for OTT battles against undead bastards, then prepare yourself for the sequel, which is on its way. Dead Snow 2: Red Vs. Dead promises more of the same, and the trailer can be seen below.
Picking up the story after the original, we find Martin (Vegar Hoel) still suffering the effects of his encounter with the creatures. He accidentally killed his girlfriend with an axe. He cut his own arm off with a chainsaw. And his friends STILL got devoured by a battalion of Nazi Zombies - which is a tough day by anyone's standards. And in fairness, his friends had it worse…
In this insane-looking sequel he wakes up in a hospital bed with a new arm – but it’s a super-powered Zombie arm that wants to kill him and anything else it can reach (shades of Evil Dead). Martin is, understandably, not best pleased. With the help of his new Zombie Squad pals (Martin Starr, Jocelyn DeBoer and Ingrid Haas), he decides to deliver some payback to Colonel Herzog and his precious Nazi gold by raising an undead army of his own.
Red Vs. Dead launched its cinematic invasion of America at Sundance and continues its campaign at Fantastic Fest this week, following a stop in the UK at August’s Frightfest. There’s no sign of a general UK release date yet.
