If you have listened to last week’s Empire Podcast (and if not, head to the bottom of the page where you can find it lurking), you may have heard Robert Pattinson talking about his second collaboration with David Cronenberg, Maps To The Stars. The new trailer for the twisted drama has arrived.
Maps spends time with a few unusual Hollywood-based characters, including psychotherapist to the stars Stafford Weiss (John Cusack) and his wife Christina (Olivia Williams), stage mother to 13-year-old acting spawn Benjie (Evan Bird) who has just emerged from drug rehab. Yes, at 13.
Also back is their estranged daughter Agatha (Mia Wasikowska), recently released from a psychiatric hospital and working for highly-strung star Havana Segrand (Julianne Moore), one of Stafford’s clients whose career heydays are behind her and who is battling for a role originally played by her mother in the 1960s. Agatha, in turn, forms a bond with Jerome (Pattinson) a limo driver and wannabe writer who weaves between the others. Soon, personal and professional demons are howling for everyone.
Marking Cronenberg’s first time shooting in Los Angeles, **Maps To The Stars **also features Sarah Gadon, Carrie Fisher and Emilia McCarthy. It’ll hit UK screens on September 28.
