Mulder and Scully are back, and The X-Files are re-opening. Fox's six-episode 'event series' arrives at the beginning of next year, and following a set of stills and a first clip, here's a new trailer. Well, we say trailer: it's more of a teaser. Well, we say teaser: it's more of a .GIF with delusions of grandeur. But Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny do show up for a couple of its tantalising 14 seconds.
Something crashed in a crater. Tentative soldiers approaching. Bodies being dragged out of a dark room. A serious-looking injection. Someone treading on Mulder's "I Want To Believe" poster. And Mulder and Scully with guns and torches. Yup, that's looking like business as usual. Or business as it was before the last two seasons anyway.
The miniseries picks up with Mulder and Scully in very different places in their lives, but still committed to finding the truth behind the big conspiracies that have plagued their lives. But there’s also time to investigate other mysteries, too… Joel McHale and Rhys Darby are among the new co-stars, Chris Carter is at the controls as always, and The X-Files is back, at least on US screens, on January 24 next year.
