With Taking Woodstock getting its Cannes bow this week, Universal have released some fresh on-set pics showing the director Ang Lee spreading peace and love to his cast of budding hippies.
The shots include Demetri Martin as interior designer Elliot Tiber who's instrumental in setting up the Woodstock Festival, Paul Dano as one half of a hippie couple who help Elliot get his groove-y on and Emile Hirsch as returning Vietnam vet Billy.
The world premiere of Taking Woodstock has had something of a Marmite effect in Cannes. Some critics have remained stubbornly resistant to its charms, although a fair few have heralded it as another masterpiece from the versatile Taiwanese auteur, with Empire's very own blog machine Damon Wise describing it as "a fantastic coming-of-age movie". Taking Woodstock is out in UK cinemas on October 30.
