Movie marriages can be tough. When the sparks fades and all those moonlit visits to the Empire State Building are a distant memory, on-screen couples have to work hard to keep the magic alive. Masque orgies (Eyes Wide Shut) and car key parties (The Ice Storm) are extreme solutions, but, let's be honest, they somehow overlook the saucy charms a chubby man in a gimp collar.
This new poster for Swinging With The Finkels is damned if it's going to make the same mistake. Plonked awkwardly in the middle of all this sexualness are Mandy Moore and Martin Freeman as the titular pair, Ellie and Alvin Finkel. They play a London couple whose relationship is fast disappearing down the gurgler, until the collapse of their friends' marriage inspires them to... well, the title should explain the rest.
The quad give a flavour of a movie taiming to be reprise the kind of awkward comedy of manners British filmmakers used to do so well.
Swinging With The Finkels is written and directed by Jonathan Newman, adapting his own short film film 'Sex With The Finkels' for the big screen. It's out on June 17.
